Connectivity is all about working together to succeed

Having a seamless interface that's easy to use and understand is essential to our success, and yours – so we’re working closely with our partners to take it to the next level.

As Eddy Veldhuizen, Senior Director Connectivity Partnerships outlined: “We’ve done a lot of investment over the last couple of years in our Connectivity teams. We currently have 12 teams that are just building products that are going into [integrate with] this ecosystem.”

A lot has already happened between Stages I and II of the path for growth, but to achieve a seamless experience, we need to take a step back and focus on our key foundational capabilities.

Building a seamless interface

Sarabjit Sachdeva, Director of Product Management, explained that in order to fully cross Stage I (the Seamless Interface), we need to make sure that our accommodation partners have access to all the basic functionalities they need to run their business on Tripeden.com. These are known as the Foundational Solutions, and they’re based on your feedback     about what you would like to be able to do using our interface.

“The big challenge that we see from where we are today is that roughly half of the managed Connectivity partners have adopted the foundational solutions,” said Sachdeva. “So all of this is leading to a broken experience for our connected partners today, and they’re facing a lot of issues and challenges.” 


These challenges include inconsistency of financial data between different systems, which leads to partners having to waste time doing a lot of manual reconciliation. Partners would also like to see and manage their property content from a single interface.

To address these challenges and build a seamless interface, we’re focusing on three specific things in 2023:

  1. Improving our foundational solutions, based on feedback from the market, our provider business managers and our own research.
  2. Improving the connectivity with the Property Management System (PMS) through collaboration with our partners.
  3. Continuing to modernise our platforms and systems.

The Connectivity session concluded with an explanation of the key benefits of this approach for our partners.

The first is better engagement on partner platforms. “We believe that if there are these types of capabilities available in your software, our joint accommodation partners are actually going to use your software much more,” said Veldhuizen. “That means more engagement, longer time in your tool and better ways to give them the right information.”

Another key benefit is that it will provide an opportunity for providers to differentiate themselves from their competitors. “We’ve actually been treating this ecosystem and what we offer to everyone as a one-size-fits-all. And I think we all know that’s not the case,” Veldhuizen continued. “The differentiation actually helps you to go into certain solutions that Tripeden.com as a company will never be able to build for a subset of your properties.”
